RQ Psych Newsletter – September 2024 (4th Issue)

Hello R-Questers!

Welcome to the September issue of the RQ Psych Newsletter (4th issue). As per usual, we have updates on the RQ Psych practice and other important information you might find useful.

This month doubled up as both Heritage Month in South Africa, and World Suicide Prevention and Awareness Month. Both these highlight some of the important aspects of one’s mental health. For some heritage month/day is daunting because they are not certain of their identity and/or where they belong because they lack certain information and/or they have not been accepted by the people who are important to them. Unfortunately, for some, this ultimately leads to suicide. So, one’s journey to self and mental health needs to be embraced and monitored constantly. If you know where you are emotionally, physically, psychologically, financially, and/or spiritually, you are on the right track.

For those who have forgotten to book their psychotherapeutic sessions, as they are on a quest to self and wellbeing, worry not! We are taking appointments for the month of October 2024.

Fees & Rates Increase Effective 1 January 2025

Our clients are our top priority and, as such, we strive to offer the best levels of care while keeping our rates as stable as possible. In fact, when we opened the doors to our practice exactly a year ago, we set our rates to be relatively low.

Inflation and rising costs in healthcare, and our country in general, mean that we have to raise our rates to keep pace. We have kept the increase as low as we possibly could.

Please find the details of our rate increase below for all cash/private consultations.

  • Individual Psychotherapy (incl. Child/Play Therapy) – R1 150.00
  • Couples Therapy (2 individuals) – R1 400.00
  • Family Therapy (3/more individuals) – R1 500.00
  • Assessments – Depends on a number of factors, such as type of assessment, number of hours taken, report writing, etc.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your loyalty and understanding, and we look forward to seeing you in the practice soon.
